Wash your hands thoroughly before inserting or removing Original Soft-Tampons!
Inserting:
- Remove the tampon from the film.
- To make it easier to insert, we recommend applying a small amount of lubricant to the (dry) tampon or dampening it with clean water. Squeeze out thoroughly afterwards so that it can absorb as much fluid as possible.
- Squatting or sitting on the toilet is the easiest way to insert the tampon.
- Place your index finger on one of the flat sides of the tampon, hold the tampon at the side between your thumb and middle finger and squeeze it together. With its new shape, reminiscent of an heart, the Soft-Tampons have a slim tip. The two downward-facing wings form a groove on the underside in which to place a finger while pushing the tampon into position during insertion. Use your other hand to open the labia and, using your index or middle finger, push the tampon into the vagina until the tampon meets the base of the womb.
Change your tampon (just like any other tampon) at regular intervals. How long you use a tampon for depends on the heaviness of your menstruation. You may have to change tampons more frequently at the start of your menstruation (approx. every 3 to 5 hours). When your menstruation is ending, duration should be around 5 to a maximum of 8 hours. However, we recommend that you change every 4 to 6 hours. You reduce the risk of infection by changing the Original Soft-Tampon after swimming or after sexual intercourse without condoms.
Removal:
The tampon can be easily removed using the integrated strap, by pulling on the grip tab with your index or middle finger. However, if you find it difficult to remove a tampon, we recommend that you adopt a squatting position to reduce the depth of the vagina from 9–10 cm down to 4–5 cm. By additional pressing, the tampon moves downwards, thus is easier to reach. Vaginal douche can be helpful as well, a soaked tampon will slide down automatically and can be grabbed easier.
And finally:
Soft-Tampons are safe for the use with condoms and the IUDs. If a IUD was just newly inserted, please consult your doctor before use. If a tampon cannot be removed, you must seek medical advice immediately. Don’t forget to remove the last Original Soft-Tampon at the end of your menstruation! Soft-Tampons are not a contraceptive
device and cannot prevent pregnancy
WARNING – USE EACH TAMPON ONLY ONCE!
Reusing tampons can lead to infection! Store Soft-Tampons in their original packaging and in a dry place away from light. Discolouration does not mean that the product is defective. Soft-Tampons must be disposed with the household waste, the remaining packaging in line with the country‘s respective regulations concerning waste.
Important Health Information:
Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is a very rare but serious disease. TSS occurs most often (about 50%) in menstruating females using tampons, in particular women under thirty years of age, and especially teenage girls. TSS also occurs, however, among men, children, and non-menstruating women. TSS can be fatal if it is not diagnosed and treated immediately. The initial symptoms are often similar to the flu, they usually appear very quickly and are often severe. Not all TSS cases are alike, and all symptoms are not always present. If you have a sudden high fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting, and feel disorientated during your period, remove your tampon immediately, discontinue using tampons, and seek immediate medical attention, either from your doctor or from an emergency medical facility. If you have or had TSS before, we recommend to stop using tampons until you check with your doctor.
